Spin Cycle Never Kicks In
Everything runs smoothly right up until the point where spin is supposed to begin, and then nothing happens. Most often the mechanism confirming the door or lid is shut has stopped sending that signal properly, so the control board holds off spinning as a precaution. That part could be dead outright, or it may have simply slipped just enough to miss its mark. A live test while a cycle runs tells us which.
Unexpected Water On The Floor
A wet patch appears somewhere near the machine, occasionally only during certain stages of the cycle. For front-loaders, the flexible rubber seal circling the door is the natural starting point, since years of opening and closing eventually wear a tear into it. On top-load units, a fitting that's worked itself loose or an aging tub seal tends to be the more likely cause.
No Water Ever Enters
Starting the machine produces either total silence or a full cycle running with an empty drum throughout. A mineral-clogged inlet valve frequently explains this, and a bent supply line hiding behind the unit can create the exact same result for far less money to fix. Checking that both shut-off taps are turned fully on comes before anything else.
Violent Movement During Spin
As soon as it hits full spin, the entire cabinet lurches with enough force to be heard well beyond the laundry room. Aging springs or shock absorbers that have worn down at uneven rates typically can't keep the drum's motion under control anymore. Installing a matched replacement set prevents the shaking from simply shifting somewhere else.
Deep Thud With Every Turn
One forceful knock lands each time the drum completes a rotation, and the sound has clearly gotten worse recently. This specific pattern usually signals a bearing has failed inside the drum assembly, the component letting the tub spin freely within its housing. Listening to it in action confirms the diagnosis before any quote gets written.
Cycle Ends Without Warning
The wash simply cuts off partway through and displays something unfamiliar on the screen, sometimes locking the door as it does. A malfunctioning sensor reporting the wrong water level is a typical trigger, causing the board to halt rather than risk filling incorrectly. Isolating that single sensor is a fraction of the cost of a full board swap.

Spread out an unbalanced load
A single bulky item such as a comforter can knock an entire spin off balance. Add a towel or rearrange the load to fix it.
Verify the supply valves are open
Both hot and cold taps behind the machine must be turned on completely. Even a partly closed valve mimics a fill failure.
Look along the drain hose
Slide the unit forward a bit and check the full hose length for any pinched or sharply bent section.
Confirm the door latches securely
The safety switch generally keeps a washer from starting unless it senses a solid close. Press firmly until you hear it click into place.
Don't overload beyond capacity
Packing the drum beyond its limit can set off a sensor and end the wash prematurely. Try splitting into a smaller load instead.
Check for a level installation
Even a minor tilt makes a washer shake noticeably harder than normal. Most units include feet you can adjust by hand.
